2010 Goes Out In Song!
This all said, I just put together the cover art for the single, hope you enjoy!
And feel free to stop by soundcloud and listen to some music today . :)
Happy New Year!

When I am not busy developing and designing for Inkshire, I am hard at work with my music project "After Avalanche", an eclectic spin on reggae-influenced blues/rock music. Today is the release day for my new single "Singularity" which is available at my Soundcloud page starting noon PST.

New Years News!
The first of these is some news about Inkshire expanding our borders to the smartphone platform as we will be working with iPhone Repo Center to build custom themes for iPhones. If you check out the site right now, the logo up there was one I designed a couple of years ago!
We are extremely excited to be offering Inkshire iPhone Themes... although I will admit to being an Android user myself! Maybe next New Years we'll hit that market too!
Also upcoming is the launch of Inkshire's own clothing Line (Name still TBD).
And last but not least is the launch of the 2011 web site, going live January 1st! I think you'll enjoy the new look and simplified, sleeker design!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from Inkshire Art Studio!

Alot is going to change for Inkshire in 2011, and I am very excited to announce a few of those changes today!

NEW! Inkshire Partner Program
That's why we are officially launching the Inkshire Partner Program, a way for you to get professional design and illustration for your business without paying ONE CENT!
How does it work? Well, it starts with you asking Inkshire for a logo/illustration and providing us with basic information about your company or organisation (We just want to know what you are all about because we are going to promote you on our site!) . After we have discussed what you want, your art will be presented to you and all Inkshire will ask in return is that you refer back to Inkshire in some way.
Ultimately, we get to help you with professional looking designs, and you get to help us get more opportunities to do so! See how it works?
Official documentation on this program will be up on the site soon, but for the time being, visit the contact page for info on getting involved!

Inkshire Art Studios is all about sharing. It's always so awesome to be asked by someone to do a logo for their site or an illustration for a T-shirt.

Pixl80 on Chrome Web App Store

Google Chrome has a new feature for their browser which is actually a very awesome idea. Basically, a web hosted app or pre-packaged app can be uploaded to their new Chrome Web Store and users can install these into their browser and then listed on the home tab much like apps on an Android or iOS device.
Today, Inkshire listed Pixl80 in the web store. It is , of course 100 percent FREE and there are not any new features at this time to the tool but we plan on some updates in the not so distant future.
For Inkshire, Pixl80 is just a fun way to pass the time and is not in any way our primary goal and focus. However, be on the lookout for Inkshire to take advantage of the Chrome Web Store in more ways focused on the art, imagination, and quality we hope to be known for. And in the meantime, if you use Chrome... go ahead and install Pixl80 and a host of other great tools.

Happy Turkey Day From Inkshire

Happy Turkey Day (AKA Thanksgiving, AKA Gluttony Day, AKA Pig Day) From Inkshire!
In honor of the holiday, I whipped up this little turkey vector drawing during my spare time. Sure, It's more of a crow/guard dog kind of turkey... but what do you expect? In Inkshire, everything is just a little different than usual.
Hope everyone has a great time with family and friends, and remember it's not just about eating as much as possible (I'm gonna win this year!) ... it's about being thankful for what you have been blessed with. I for one am thankful for the time I could take to make some art. And for all of you who support what do : )

The 1st Ever Inkshire Idea Contest

Announcing the first ever Inkshire Idea contest. Here's how it works:
1. You think of the idea. Your idea of something Inkshire should paint, draw, build, or paste together (art mediums are almost unlimited!). This could be a simple thought, an imagery, or a fully thought-out concept.
2. You share the idea by commenting this post. Facebook wall post or twitter is also acceptable. (On twitter, please use the tag #inkshireidea)
3. I will choose the winner, create the piece, and present them with a full size poster print of it!
I am not expecting a huge response since the site just launched, but I appreciate any and all ideas that are submitted. It just takes a second, and you might end up with something for your wall, fridge, desk, or maybe some kindling for the winter months.
Let the ideas begin!
Note: Ideas that are requests for work for your business, organization, etc will not be considered entries to the contest as the focus of the contest is not offering services for design but rather taking a visual idea and turning it into artwork. However, please know that I appreciate requests to do illustration for your site or business and will be happy to help where I can at no charge. I will simply ask that you link back to Inkshire in some way.

Inkshire Share: Art Of Interest

Alot of art tends to be the same. Pictures of this, pictures of that, paintings, drawings, you name it. But sometimes, one stumbles upon (literally, I used stumbleupon.com!) something that is both art and something else altogether. Like the above banana that has been engraved by a laser and is now much more than just another fruit.
Click the picture to visit the page I stumbled upon, because the banana is only the beginning! You'll see architecture, furniture, and much more... all made into art that takes the experience beyond traditional mediums!
Enjoy!
